Finding & retaining care staff is a battle for most care homes.

 

Many have acquired a sponsor licence to unlock overseas talent. This is a great step forward.

But the Home Office now treats the sector as high risk after visa-selling scandals, and, more widely, inadvertent miss-management of licences by care businesses that lack the processes to keep on top of their duties.

 

Some have faced huge penalties and licence revocation, and the rest of the sector has faced delays getting CoS due to increased scrutiny.

 

The delays, and fear of landing in hot water with the Home Office, have caused others to underutilise their licences.
