We are seeking a talented Senior Backend Java Developer to join our clients Platform team.
You'll be required to have strong Java 11 experience, building microservices/rest APIs, have
good experience with solutions like Kafka, databases, working with Google Cloud Platform.

 

The successful Java Developer will also be aware of all the principles and standards that make
for a good Back End engineer (eg SOLID principle) and the usual tooling/processes (Jenkins
CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, SonarCube etc.)

The platform team works on technical strategy projects. Generally they work on improving
backed services, migrating services, updating, upgrading, creating new services.

You will be working across all Java services/layers and required database changes/work.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Strong Java 11

• Building microservices/rest APIs

• Kafka

• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• SOLID principle

• Jenkins

• CI/CD

• Docker

• Kubernetes

 
RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Design, develop, test and release microservices on GKE/GCP

• Containerise existing microservices to run on GKE/GCP

• Work with Operations to automatically deploy microservices to production

• Optimise Legacy code to enable a successful migration of each microservice to GKE/GCP

• Help decoupling code from existing monoliths into microservices

• Share knowledge and best practice in Brownbag sessions to ramp up less experienced engineers

• Produce Production Ready code that is clean and testable

• Work as part of an agile team
